Baguio residents pwedeng madale ng heat stroke

MANILA, Philippines - Kahit mas malamig ang klima sa lungsod ng Baguio, maaari pa ring makaranas ng heat stroke ang mga residente ng summer capital ng bansa.
Sinabi ni Rolando Bagorio ng Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) na nanatiling 16 degrees Celsius ang regular na temperatura sa Baguio.
Pero sinabi ni Bagorio na tumataas ang temperatura sa lungsod kapag tanghali at kung mabilad ang isang tao sa sikat ng araw ay maaari pa rin siyang madale ng heat stroke.
Aniya, upang maiwasan ang heat stroke ay kailangan palaging uminom ng tubig at iwasang magbilad sa sikat ng araw.
"To avoid heat stroke, one must drink plenty of water and avoid as much as possible the exposure to the direct sunlight," pahayag ni Bagorio ngayong Martes.
Samantala, sinabi ni Dr. Rustico Jimenez, presidente ng Private Hospital Association of the Philippines, sa isang panayam sa radyo na lima hanggang 10 katao ang tinatamaan ng heat stroke kada araw dahil sa init ng panahon.
"That is really a high figure. We really need to remind our people to take precautions against heat stroke," ani Jimenez.
