Brazil's former President Rousseff to head think tank board

Associated Press

SAO PAULO — A think tank linked to Brazil's Worker's Party has named former President Dilma Rousseff the head of its board of trustees.

Rousseff's appointment was announced yesterday on the website of Sao Paulo-based Perseu Abramo Foundation.

The foundation researches and debates political and economic issues.

Brazil's first female president was impeached on Aug. 31 after being accused of breaking fiscal laws in her management of the federal budget.

Rousseff and her predecessor and mentor Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva travel to Cuba on Saturday for Fidel Castro's funeral the following day.
