Tracing the roots of Independence

KAWIT, Philippines – The historic town of Kawit in Cavite, where the first Philippine flag was hoisted, started the festivities for the commemoration of the 111th Independence Day early today. As early as 5 a.m., a large crowd has gathered in the vicinity of the Aguinaldo Shrine, where the Philippine flag will be raised again at the balcony of the mansion of Gen.
