Pascua's familiarity with coach Shaq works wonders for Cignal vs Petron
MANILA, Philippines – Cignal HD Spikers head coach George Pascua employed to his advantage his familiarity of Petron head coach Shaq delos Santos.
“Si coach Shaq medyo familiar sa akin yung diskarte niya,” Pascua said after their victory against the Delos Santos-mentored Petron, 11-25, 25-23, 29-27, 26-24, in the 2017 Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference Thursday.
“So kahit papaano madali na lang [yung adjustment],” he added.
Pascua steered Petron to a historic 13-0 record in the 2015 All-Filipino Conference.
With the win, Cignal moved up with 4-1 standing while Petron dropped to 3-2 win-loss record. Petron’s two losses came at the expense of Cignal HD Spikers.
Honey Royce Tubino scored 16 points while Jovelyn Gonzaga and Rachel Anne Daquis contributed 14 markers apiece.
Cignal’s last game in the elimination will be against Generika-Ayala Lifesavers on Saturday, June 24. – Aaron Brennt Eusebio
