MANILA, Philippines — Surfers will get the chance to compete in the country's first professional surfing tournament.

The Philippine Surfing Championship Tour (PSCT) is a four-leg tournament that will start in September at the Boardwalk Cloud 9 Resort in Siargao.

The second leg is scheduled from November 5-11 at Lanuza, Siargao, while the third leg will be from November 29 to December 3 in Baler.

The fourth and final leg will be from December 6-10 at the surfing capital of the north in La Union.

The PCST was founded by four surfers: Luke Landrigan, Bjorn Pabon, Manuel Melindo and Mike Oida.

They hold the highest level of International Surfing Association (ISA) judging certification in the country and will also serve as the main judges in the tour.

The PSCT will be patterned to the World Surf League and surfers will earn points and battle for spots in the national ranking.
