19-year-old SU student wins Ms Dumaguete 2017 crown

CEBU, Philippines — Lexandria Bliss dela Cerna, a senior civil engineering student of Silliman University, outsmarted nine other women to win the 2017 Miss Dumaguete title.

Dela Cerna, a resident of  Barangay Piapi in Dumaguete City, also received seven special awards: Best in talent, most photogenic, best in evening gown, best in swimwear, best speaker, and best in production number.

First runner-up honors went to Elisse Ann Dolleton, 22 years old, also from Piapi, and a graduate of  Bachelor of  Science in Pharmacy from the University of Sto. Tomas. She also won the highest Smart texters award.

The 2nd runner up winner was Vanessa Kimberly Ganser, 20 years old from Barangay Talay, who also got the darling of the press award.

Third runner-up was Maydel Faburada, 21 years old of Barangay Camanjac, and a senior student of Negros Oriental State University, while 4th runner-up was Nastassja Marie Amigo, 18 years old, of  Poblacio 6, and a senior high school student of Silliman University.

The board of judges was headed by 2010 Miss Universe 4th runner-up Venus Raj, while Mayor Felipe Remollo and members of the City Council presented the awards to the winners during the coronation event held at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete City. (FREEMAN)
