3 cops die, 20 hurt in road mishap

SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines – Three policemen were killed while 20 others were injured in a road accident in Polomolok town in South Cotabato on Monday.

Senior Police Officers 2 Arnel Jalis, Romar Vistavilla and Henry Baliao were in a Honda Fit when their vehicle collided with a Toyota Hi-Ace passenger van along the Koronadal-General Santos highway in Barangay Silay. The policemen were escorting a group of police trainees in a truck when the accident occurred.

The passengers of the van and the police trainees were brought to various hospitals for treatment.
