Air Force, Adamson nagparamdam sa National Open Fast Pitch Softball

MANILA, Philippines - Kaagad nagparamdam ng kanilang lakas ang paboritong Air Force at Adamson University sa pag­hataw ng Cebuana Lhuillier-ASAPHIL Summer Grand Slam National Open Fast Pitch softball tournament sa Bonifacio at St. Francis fields sa Cabuyao City no­ong Linggo.

Dinomina ng Air Force batters ang Cebu City, 11-0, sa Open men’s division, habang blinangko ng Falcons, ang reigning UAAP champions, ang Manila Ci­ty Team I squad, 10-0, sa wo­men’s play sa torneong inihahandog ng Cebuana Lhuillier at Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL).

Umiskor naman ang Ate­neo sa Cabiao, Nueva Ecija, 7-0, habang pinabagsak ng Dasmariñas, Cavite ang Manila City Team 2, 19-0, sa 11th season ng torneo na nagsisilbing selection process para sa national team.

“As we continue to build the path towards the Tok­yo 2020 Olympics, we at ASAPHIL are relentless in our goal to find and train lo­cal softball stars, and this tournament serves that purpose,” sabi ni ASAPHIL at Cebuana Lhuillier president Jean Henri Lhuillier. “Year after year, we are treated to highly competitive teams pitted against each other. This year is no different and I can’t wait to see how they are going to battle it out in the next couple of days.”

Nagtala din ng panalo ang Philippine Youth team laban sa Tanauan, Bata­ngas, 4-1, bago nakalusot sa UP-Diliman, 5-4.

Pinatumba naman ng Sta. Maria, Bulacan ang Ri­zal Technological U, 12-0, samantalang nalampasan ng Makati City ang Tanuan, Batangas, 7-6, sa event na nilahukan ng 46 koponan.

Sa iba pang resulta sa la­dies division, binigo ng UP Team 2 ang De La Salle-Zobel, 2-0, bago natalo sa University of the East, 2-9, habang pinabagsak ng San Miguel, Bulacan ang DLSZ, 12-0.

Sa Men’s Club cate­go­ry, iginupo naman ng Alasba Bicol ang home team na Ca­buyao Trans­for­mer Galvatron sa bisa ng 10-2 panalo.
