Manila, Philippines - The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) chief of Dagupan City is making a pitch for the culture of malaga (siganid) among fish growers, saying that its production is a timely move to address issues on climate change.
Dr. Westly Rosario said a French scientist has started last week a study on this fish, whose two species (Siganus Vermiculatus and Siganus Guttatus) are grown here. The said scientist is gathering traditional practices of farmers here in growing the fish.
