Reward up for arrest of Ecija gov secretary's killers

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines — The reward for information leading to the arrest of the killers of the secretary of Nueva Ecija Gov. Czarina Umali has been raised to P1.2 million.

The provincial government put up a reward of P1 million aside from the P200,000 offered by Talavera Mayor Nerivi Martinez.

Mary Anne Hernandez, her husband Carlito and two children were in a sport utility vehicle and fueling up at a gas station in Barangay Pag-asa in Talavera when they were shot. Carlito was wounded.

Police still have no leads on the motives for the killing.
