21 Russians, Koreans to be deported

Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Nineteen Russian women allegedly engaged in prostitution in Pampanga and two Koreans who brought them into the country face deportation.

In a statement, the Bureau of Immigration said Jeong Seong-hun, 30, and Lee Kyu-rak, 30, are the cashier and manager, respectively, of Club Angel in Angeles City. They were detained together with the Russian women at Camp Bagong Diwa following their arrest on Wednesday.

“They will all be deported for working without visas and for other immigration offenses,” BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said yesterday.

BI Intelligence officer Jude Hinolan, who led the arresting team, said charges for violation of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act would be filed against the Koreans.
