NPA rebels burn construction equipment

DIADI, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — Suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels burned three heavy equipment in this town on Tuesday night. 

Senior Inspector Jefferson Mukay,  Diadi police chief, said the rebels stormed Delta Earthmoving Construction Co. owned by a certain Mr. Omegan of Tabuk, Kalinga and set on  fire a dump truck, a water truck and a backhoe.

Workers and officials of the company refused to comment on the incident.

In Abra, Lowel Carmelo Maglia, 22, of the Kilusang Larangang Gerilya in Abra surrendered to Sallapadan Mayor Nenita Cardenas in Sitio Sadag, Barangay Maguyepyep on Sunday. – Victor Martin, Raymund Catindig, Artemio Dumlao
