5 goat thieves nabbed

BACNOTAN, La Union , Philippines  – Five suspected goat thieves operating in Pangasinan and La Union were arrested in Barangay Poblacion in this town on Tuesday.

Boyet Flores, Willy Fernandez, Jose Estacio, Jonathan Osilla and Bernie Sabala were collared at a checkpoint after an inspection of their car yielded four goats, said Chief Inspector Reynaldo Soria, Bacnotan police chief.

Soria said they received calls from several police chiefs that the car used by the suspects had been spotted in areas where several goats were stolen.

He said the suspects target goats being pastured near highways.

The suspects said they would deliver the goats to a restaurant in Dagupan City.
