2 dead, 5 hurt in ambush

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines – Two persons were killed and five others were wounded in an ambush in Banisilan, North Cotabato on Friday.

Senior Inspector Jojie Barutas, Banisilan police chief, identified the fatalities as Lumayun Pukut Alayudan and Alinor Mantikayan.

Panamtaom Mantikayan, chairman of Barangay Busaon, and his relatives Beduh, Sarah Tekumeh and siblings Moy and Mohaimen Saligan were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Initial investigation showed the victims were on their way to the provincial capitol here when they were waylaid.
