4 drug suspects slain in Luzon

MANILA, Philippines – Four more suspected drug pushers were killed in separate incidents in Luzon in the past two days.

Alvin dela Torre, a resident of Barangay Catmon in Sta. Maria town in Bulacan, was slain in an alleged shootout with police during a sting on Monday.

In Baliwag, also in Bulacan, a certain alias Big Boy, 45, allegedly shot it out with policemen when he sensed that he had sold shabu to undercover agents.

Also killed in a reported shootout with police was Jun Castro, a resident of Barangay San Rafael in Tarlac City.

The fatalities reportedly yielded guns and several sachets of shabu.

In Cagayan, court employee Allan Ragasa was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men in front of a public school in Barangay Matucay in Allacapan town yesterday.

Also killed was Ragasa’s companion Francis Ogalino, also a court employee.

Senior Superintendent Amor de la Cruz, Cagayan police director, said only Ragasa was on the local police’s drug watchlist.

More nabbed

Meanwhile, more suspects were arrested on Monday as police intensify its campaign against illegal drugs.

Marcos Pangalinan Mina, the top drug suspect in  Barangay Bulu in Victoria town in Tarlac and his alleged cohort Nick Lapitan were arrested during a sting in Victoria town.

Police Officer 1 Randy Mindano, 37, was collared in a sting in Barangay 15 in Batangas City.

Senior Superintendent Leopolod Cabanag, Batangas police director, said Mindano yielded two sachets of shabu and P3,000 in cash.

In Rizal, Danilo Lozano, 49, alias Kalbo and Gimini de Guzman, 48, alias Totoy, did not resist arrest when collared at around 1 p.m.

The suspects reportedly yielded 15 sachets of shabu.
