NPA admits kidnapping 4 PNP men

Ben Serrano - The Philippine Star

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – The New People’s Army (NPA) has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of four Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel in Malimono, Surigao del Norte on Sunday.

A certain Ka Otto told several local radio stations yesterday that Senior Police Officer 3 Santiago Lamanilao, PO3 Jerome Bagayas, PO2 Khalid Senaca and non-uniformed personnel Rodrigo Angub had just left a cockpit when they were seized.

Otto said the police officers were under the custody of the NPA in Surigao del Norte.

A police report said the PNP personnel were not wearing their uniform but were carrying their service firearms.
