2 slain in Laguna gun attack

BIÑAN CITY, Laguna, Philippines – Two persons were killed in a gun attack in Barangay Canlalay in this city yesterday.

Salvador Quintans, 40, and a certain Jimmy, alias Brocko, died at the scene at around 12:15 a.m., according to a police report.

Cassey Leuren Ramos, 31, was injured and brought to the Evangelista Hospital at Pacita Complex in San Pedro City.

Initial investigation showed the victims were having a drinking spree in a vacant lot when a gunman appeared from behind and opened fire.

The gunman fled on a motorcycle driven by another man toward Sta. Rosa City.

Police are eyeing rivalry among drug rings as the motive for the attack.
