Estrada takes oath of office as Manila mayor
MANILA, Philippines – Former president and reelected Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada on Wednesday took his oath of office for his second term as the city mayor.
Estrada’s inauguration was held in a session hall at the Manila City Hall. He was sworn in by Court of Appeals Justice Andres Reyes Jr.
Reyes also administered the oath of office of the city's first female vice mayor, Estrada's running mate Honey Lacuna.

Aside from Estrada and Lacuna, 36 other councilors of Manila took their oaths of office.
Estrada’s immediate family was present to witness the inauguration before he formally starts his second term. He defeated former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, Amado Bagatsing, Ofring Abad, Val Reloj and Dodos Dela Cruz in the Manila mayoral race.

The incumbent mayor obtained 283,140 votes and gained victory by a hair against former Mayor Lim's 280, 464.
