Noy signs law creating LTO district office

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has signed a law creating a district office of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Baybay City, Leyte.

Republic Act 10850 signed on Monday mandates the Department of Transportation and Communications to include the district office in its operations and provide the needed funds. The LTO is an attached agency of the DOTC.

LTO chief Roberto Cabrera said more district offices are needed to meet the demand in certain areas.

“The existing district offices are not enough. A lot of our countrymen would have to travel for a number of hours to reach the nearest LTO office. We need to bring those services closer to them,” Cabrera told The STAR.
