Zubiri launches campaign
MANILA, Philippines – Former senator Juan Miguel Zubiri yesterday launched his campaign for the Senate in Bukidnon.
“We launched all our electoral campaigns here in Bukidnon, so it is only fitting that in our return bout for a Senate seat, we also take off from here,” Zubiri told his supporters.
“My province mates wanted me to be here as much as I wanted to be with them,” he added.
Though he is running as an independent, Zubiri is a common candidate on the senatorial slates of presidential hopefuls Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares, Vice President Jejomar Binay and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
“Local leaders are holding a big caucus. We shall hear the people’s voice in Bukidnon today. Their voice shall guide us during the campaign. We have to listen to them intently. This is why I am here in Bukidnon to launch my candidacy,” Zubiri said.
