Girl, 18, kills self

MANILA, Philippines - An 18-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide by drinking silver cleaner in Manila on Sunday night.

Jennifer Yacap died while being treated at the Sta. Ana Hospital, police said.

Case investigator Police Officer 3 Roderick Magpale said Yacap was discovered lifeless by her roommate, Joann Laxamana, at around 10 p.m.

Prior to the incident, Laxamana said she saw Yacap crying while talking to someone on the mobile phone.

Police said a bottle of silver cleaner was found beside Yacap.
