MMDA response teams in 4 Metro Manila cemeteries for Undas
MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has set up emergency response teams in four major cemeteries in Metro Manila for the All Saints' Day break.
Jojo Garcia, MMDA assistant general manager, said that this would be the first time that the agency will put up public assistance centers in the four biggest cemeteries in Metro Manila.
The response teams would be set up at the Manila North Cemetery, South Cemetery, San Juan Public Cemetery and Loyola Memorial Park.
"We will have tents there and will be there in full force. No day off for our employees," Garcia said in Filipino in an interview with ANC's "Headstart".
MMDA Chairman Danny Lim earlier said that 2,886 traffic enforcers and augmentation teams will be deployed to direct traffic along major roads leading to cemeteries.

All MMDA personnel, including traffic enforcers, cleaners and emergency response teams, would have a shifting schedule.
Garcia said the MMDA has spent the last few weeks cleaning and clearing roads going to cemeteries.
"At least the flow of traffic going to the cemeteries will be smooth," Garcia said.
Garcia added that the MMDA is coordinating with private cemeteries to allow their personnel to allow local government traffic enforcers to help them with the traffic flow.
The MMDA official warned that their personnel can issue tickets for obstructing traffic during the All Saints' Day break.
"We can tow them... Issue ticket for obstruction and illegal parking," he said.
