Comedian arrested for groping hotel staff

MANILA, Philippines — A comedian was arrested yesterday for allegedly molesting a male hotel attendant in Parañaque City.

Ronnie Arana, better known as Atak, 45, was apprehended in his room at the Okada Casino Hotel Manila at around 2:40 p.m., said Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario, Southern Police District director.

Complainant Mark Christian Macavinta, 21, told police he assisted Arana when the comedian checked into the hotel.

Macavinta said when he entered Arana’s room, the comedian locked the door, grabbed his crotch and kissed him. He ran out of the room and reported the incident to the hotel’s security officers.

Arana denied the allegations.
