LTFRB warns of fake accounts

Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) yesterday issued a warning following the proliferation of fake accounts carrying the agency’s name on social media.

LTFRB board member and spokesperson Aileen Lizada cautioned the public from engaging the fake accounts, saying there are those who are trying to play with the name of the agency.

She said the Twitter account with the handle @LTFRB is the official account on the platform.

Among the fake accounts include Twitter handles @LTFRB_PH and @LTFRB_Official, which initially appear to mimic the posts of the agency but in some instances engage in dubious activities such as issuing inappropriate responses to netizens.

The LTFRB also warned earlier that a fake account of chairman Martin Delgra is being used on Facebook.

The agency is under fire following its recent decision to suspend mobile-based ride hailing application Uber.
