Businessman slain in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines - A businessman was shot dead in front of his furniture shop in Pasay City Sunday night.

According to initial reports, Michael Verzosa, 42, was preparing to close his store for the day when an assailant wearing shorts and a cap approached him at shot him in the head at around 9 p.m.

The assailant shot Verzosa again when he fell to the pavement before fleeing on foot from the crime scene.

Verzosa was declared dead on arrival at the Pasay City General Hospital.
