Maid faces raps for missing P.4 M
MANILA, Philippines - Investigators are set to file charges of qualified theft against a maid who claimed con artists persuaded her to give them her employer’s jewelry and personal belongings, worth P406,500, on Thursday night.
Police initially reported that complainant, a 64-year-old teacher who was not named, and her friend complained that they could not find maid Linjoy Quinicot, 21, in the teacher’s house along Mabini street in Barangay 15, Caloocan City Thursday night.
The complainant said they went to her room and discovered her jewelry and other belongings missing.
Police said Quinicot went home at around 5:45 p.m. and said a woman called her at around 3 p.m. to tell her that her employer, the complainant, was hospitalized and needed money.
Quinicot said the woman told her to pack her employer’s belongings and proceed to Abad Santos Avenue in Manila to meet her.
