Security guard shot dead in Pasig
MANILA, Philippines - A security guard was gunned down in Pasig City on Thursday.
Giovani Sulat, 38, died from a gunshot to the head at the Rizal Medical Center.
The killing of Sulat was not related to illegal drugs, Eastern Police District director Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula said.
Sapitula said investigators were looking into an old grudge as a possible motive for the killing.
Investigation showed that Sulat was on his way to work at Purok 7 in Barangay Sta. Cruz when an unidentified assailant fired at him at around 9:30 p.m.
Witnesses told police that the gunman fled on foot after the attack.
Sulat’s partner, Lirabel Ontic, told investigators that a neighbor recently filed charges of physical injuries against him.
Ontic said Sulat was killed hours after he attended the hearing of the case at the Pasig City Metropolitan Trial Court.
