Dutch man yields Ecstasy, cocaine

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested a Dutch man for alleged possession of the party drug Ecstasy and cocaine in a raid on his condominium unit in Makati City at dawn yesterday.

Martin de Jong yielded two kilos of Ecstasy tablets, cocaine and dried marijuana leaves stuffed in two garbage bags, the NBI said.

Prior to De Jong’s arrest, NBI operatives conducted a drug sting in a bar along Makati Avenue where the suspect was said to be selling the illegal drugs at around 1 a.m.

The NBI said De Jong could be involved in a drug ring operating in Makati and other parts of Metro Manila.

The suspect’s arrest came after two months of surveillance.

De Jong, who is being held at the NBI headquarters in Manila, said the illegal drugs belonged to his friend.
