Rody wants Palace’s funeral lamp-like lights replaced
MANILA, Philippines - President Duterte called on the house manager in Malacañang to replace the lights that adorn the walls of the historic Rizal Hall as these resemble lamps used in funeral parlors.
The lights are similar to white candles and are placed on the walls between the huge curtains that surrounded the huge hall, which has been the venue for official presidential gatherings.
“When I entered the room from that side, I saw it. So I said, who is the manager in this area?” Duterte said during the 19th founding anniversary of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption held at the Palace the other day.
“Palitan ninyo. Parang ilaw ng funeraria. Totoo. House manager… ibigay, i-donate mo na sa funeraria (replace them. These are like lights in a funeral parlor. It’s true. House manager…give it, donate them to a funeral parlor),” the President said.
Duterte then praised the Philippine National Police for killing 32 suspected drug users in Bulacan the other day.
