MISS TECH - Rudy Santos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, who faces charges for using San Juan City’s calamity funds to buy guns when he was mayor, and his wife left for Hong Kong yesterday morning.

Ejercito, who was allowed to leave after posting travel bonds at the Sandiganbayan, and his wife Cindy boarded an early morning flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.

Airport sources said Ejercito sought medical attention in Hong Kong for Cindy, who was undergoing chemotherapy.

Last August, the Sandiganbayan ordered the suspension of Ejercito for 90 days in connection with the graft case filed against him over the purchase of high-powered rifles in 2008 using San Juan’s calamity funds.
