I’m a big fan of Mahal

Im a big fan of Mahal

That’s me and my girlfriend Aicelle Santos who will perform in a concert Awit na Aicelle on Nov. 24, 8 p.m. at the Music Museum

MANILA, Philippines — It’s just a few days and counting and I can barely contain my excitement for Awit Na Aicelle because I know how much this means to my Mahal, Aicelle Santos. Aside from last year being her 10th anniversary in show business, I think this concert couldn’t have come at a better time because of all the things that have happened in Aicelle’s life from 2016 to the present.

Last year had its share of challenges both career-wise and health-wise for Aicelle and just like she always does, she surrendered it all to God and came out a healthier person and an even better performer.

In her own humble ways, Aicelle simply refuses to acknowledge how amazing an artist she is.

I remember her saying that she is “just a singer” but looking at the body of work she has accumulated, nobody can deny that she has also transformed into one of the county’s premier stage and TV actors.

And I am the luckiest guy of all to be able to see her at her best, sharing her talent and offering it all up to God on a daily basis.

Aside from being her boyfriend, I am also her biggest fan. In the 18 months that we’ve been together and I’ve seen her perform, I can honestly say that Aicelle’s talent is constantly evolving. She’s the type of singer who sings not only because she gets paid to do it but because she genuinely loves it.

Proof of this is sometimes during our conversations, she would suddenly say, “Mahal, I miss singing.”

And whether it’s a cover song or an original, she always sings her heart out and allows every emotion to flow through her and into the crowd. Her talent is so genuine she can make an entire theater cry when she sings a sad song. That, to me, is the mark of a world-class singer.

Every performance is different from the rest and she has this amazing ability to allow her audience to be a part of the song, to ride along with each and every emotion her music conveys. That’s amazing!

She’s been very hands-on with every aspect of the concert from ticket sales, stage design, song selection down to the attire.

And of course, Gary Valenciano, Bullet Dumas, Quest, Myke Salomon and The CompanY will surely guarantee a night of musical perfection.

So on Nov. 24, 8 p.m. at the Music Museum, get ready for a feast of the senses as the concert will showcase Filipino musical talent.
