Smart throws U2 Night for ‘Joshua Tree’ Europe, US show promo

MANILA, Philippines - Smart Music Live and Smart Spots threw a ‘U2 Night’ music event Thursday night to officially trumpet its all-expense paid trip fly-off promo exclusive to Smart subscibers to watch U2’s highly-anticipated ‘The Joshua Tree’ world tour in Los Angeles, Barcelona and Rome.

PLDT and Smart Chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan joined dozens of Smart subscibers and U2 fans as they partied watching a U2 tribute mini-concert by hot Pinoy rock bands Someday Dream and Imago at Handlebar Manila along Polaris Street in Makati City.

U2’s concert tour commemorates the 30th anniversary of the famed Irish band’s fifth megahit studio album, The Joshua Tree, with Vancouver as first stop on May 12. U2 will then be playing in stadiums across the United States, Canada and Europe with an impressive group of support acts, including Mumford and Sons, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and The Lumineers.

Earlier this year, #SmartMusicLive brought home to their Filipino fans David Guetta, Shawn Mendes and Fifth Harmony. Pop superstar Britney Spears is next in line with a concert on June 15 at SM Mall of Asia.
