Recla: Drug pushers behind my relief
CEBU, Philippines - Outgoing Talisay City police chief Superintendent Aileen Recla believes that the people involved in illegal drugs were behind her relief and reassignment to the Camp Crame.
Recla said she knew who these people are because they were informed ahead of her.
“Kahibalo ko kinsa na sila. Una pa gud silang nahibawo sa akong pagka-relieve kay sa nako nga nakadawat sa order,” Recla said.
She said these people were affected in her intensified campaign against illegal drugs. The police official said her conscience was clear and she was never involved in any illegal activities.
Recla was among the eight commissioned officers and 20 non-commissioned officers ordered to report to the national police headquarters and face investigation. It was not specified in the order the reasons for their relief. The Police Regional Office-7 also refused to divulge the names of the police officers involved.
Recla visited Mayor Eduardo Gullas yesterday to express her gratitude for being supportive to her as the city’s police chief.
“Anugon lang ba nga si mayor man gud supportive kaayo nato unya na relieve ta,” Recla said.
She admitted feeling sad after receiving the order because she was not given the chance to finish her programs. Recla is hoping that her successor will continue what she had started.
Her deputy chief, Senior Inspector Edward Villarin, will temporarily take charge of the city’s police force pending the designation of the new police chief. (FREEMAN)
