SHS-Ateneo bags ladies open title in Aboitiz football

CEBU, Philippines — After a painful defeat in the girls 18 division, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu lady booters bounced back strong as they snared the ladies open crown via a 2-0 victory over Tabor Hills in the 19th Aboitiz Football Cup yesterday at Paref-Springdale in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

SHS-Ateneo girls used their upset loss to St.Theresa's College as a motivation in securing the title. Aranxta Trebol and Itsuko Bacatan who also played for the  girls 18 team, blended well together with former and older players as they made up for their loss by leading the offense against Tabor Hills.

Earlier, the University of San Carlos got the third place with a thrilling 7-6 win over Chicos’ United.

Convergys booters, on the other hand, also had their reason to celebrate as they claim the inter-BPO title over Timex, 2-1.

In the distaff side, MEZ United showed cohesiveness as they silenced Eperformax,1-0. (FREEMAN)
