SWU belles down USC
CEBU, Philippines — The Southwestern University-Phinma belles upended University of San Carlos in straight sets, 25-9, 25-22, in the 2017 Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) volleyball game at the USC gymnasium yesterday.
The SWU spikers immediately went hot with a 7-0 run in the opening set.
USC girls showed that they want to even the score as they took the early lead in the second set but SWU countered with a scoring rally to steal the set and seal the victory.
In another girl’s event, University of Southern Philippines Foundation bested University of Cebu, 25-16, 25-16, while University of San Jose-Recoletos downed Cebu Eastern College, 25-8, 25-6.
In the boys action, Cebu Institute of Technology University escaped with a close, 25-20, 25-23, win over Don Bosco Technology Center. (FREEMAN)
