CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) Non-Masters Tournament gets underway today at the Knight Attack Chess Cafe in Robinsons Galleria Cebu. Game time starts at 1 p.m.

Following a 7-round Swiss system format, the two-day tilt is open only to players with a NCFP (National Chess Federation of the Philippines) rating of 2000 and below.

The champion will take home P3,000, while the second to fifth placers will pocket P2,000, P1,000, P700 and P500, respectively. The sixth to 10th will receive a consolation prize of P300 each.

Entry fee is pegged at P150 for adults and P100 for women, kiddies, and Cepcans. The organizing CEPCA led by its president Engr. Jerry Maratas will be accepting onsite registration an hour before the start of the competition.
