Piñol nag-sorry sa inverted Philippine flag

MANILA, Philippines - Humingi ng paumanhin si Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol sa inverted Philippine flag na kanyang naipakita nang magsagawa ng presentasyon sa hanay ng mga negosyanteng hapon.

 “I apologize for the mistake and assure our countrymen that I had no intention of declaring war against anybody, it was all an honest mistake,” pahayag ni Piñol.

Sa naturang presentation, isa sa slides ay ipinakikita si President Rodrigo Duterte at Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe pero nakabaliktad ang watawat ng Pilipinas.

 “The correct display of the Philippine flag should have the blue banner up and the red below it. Displaying the flag with the red banner up actually means that the country is at war, there was no more time to edit the power point presentation,” sabi ni Piñol.

Sinabi ni Piñol na ang  material ay ipinadala sa kanya sa pamamagitan ng email mula Maynila noong isang gabi at wala anya siyang sapat na oras na maihanda ito dahil hindi siya naabisuhan na magsasagawa siya ng presentasyon sa gagawing business forum.

Si Piñol ay kasama ni Pa­ngulong Duterte sa kanyang delegasyon para sa tatlong araw na pagbisita sa Japan.
