CEBU, Philippines - After its successful summer clinic, Yaw-Yan Ardigma Martial Arts Federation, Inc. will begin its six-month training module today at the Yaw-Yan Headquarters situated at 4th floor of Coast Pacific Downtown Center just across the UC-Main Campus along Sanciangko Street, this city.

The program is open to kids and adults who are interested in learning the said martial art.

Yaw-Yan is derived from the two syllables of words “Sayaw ng Kamatayan” or “Dance of Death”. It is an authentic Filipino martial arts which was first introduced to the public in 1972 by its originator Grandmaster Napoleon “Nap” A. Fernandez in a simple ceremony in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

Yaw-Yan ArDigma is an all-out martial arts using the body as a weapon. It trains the students in different areas of teaching punches, kicks, head butts, elbows and knees to take down, and ground fighting techniques. It is effective in the ring as it is on the streets.

"For beginners who have no experience in training any martial arts, this six-month training will be enough for them to learn self-defense,” said Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu CEO/Founder and Vis-Min director Master Benigno “Ekin” R. Caniga Jr. “An individual will undergo a series of training where one can learn different techniques not only in stand-up fighting but also in ground skills and use of weapons."

The courses offered include arnis, boxing fitness, Muay Thai, Yaw-Yan combat for self-defense, Yaw-Yan ArDigma system, grappling and mixed martial arts (MMA).

Master Ekin said the enrollment will still be going on even if the training camp has already started. For more inquiries, one may contact 09429647111 or 09334548222.   (FREEMAN)
