2 more PDEA detainees surrender

CAMP OLIVAS , Philippines  –  Only five of the 13 drug suspects who escaped from the detention facility of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Pampanga are unaccounted for.

Two more surrendered on Monday night, bringing to eight the number of those who turned themselves in.

PDEA Director Isidro Lapeña identified those who surrendered as Edilberto Clemente and Roberto Castillo Jr.

Lapeña said PDEA agents picked up Clemente at SM Marilao and Castillo at the Sta. Rita exit of the North Luzon Expressway in Plaridel.  

Eduardo Gregorio Jr. of Barangay Lumang Bayan in Plaridel, Victor Briguel of Sapang Palay and Robert Salas of Sto. Cristo in San Jose Del Monte City, Kiram Tambelawan also of Bulacan and Yahya Malang of Tarlac City  remain at large.

Marlon Oreza and Jeric Castillo of Barangay Banga 1st in Plaridel, Erick de la Cruz of Malubay in Valenzuela, Razel Derek de Jesus of Tiaong in Guiguinto, Romel Reyes of Bagong Nayon in Baliuag and  Renato Reyes also of Baliuag earlier surrendered.

The detainees escaped between 1 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The guards on duty at the time of the escape are under investigation.
