Three shot dead, including ‘pusher’

CEBU, Philippines - Three people were killed, including a suspected drug pusher, in separate incidents over the weekend.

Suspected drug pusher Wilfredo Parame, 52, resident of Sitio Napu, Barangay Tapul, Talisay City, was shot dead Saturday afternoon by his alleged cohort in the illegal drug business.

Talisay City Police Station chief Superintendent Aileen Recla identified the suspect as Jackson Segundino, 33, resident of the same barangay.

Parame was on his way home from a fiesta celebration in neighboring Sitio Babaw when he was allegedly shot several times by Segundino. Parame succumbed to several gunshot wounds.

The police recovered three live rounds of ammunition for  caliber .38, one magazine of caliber .45 with five bullets, two empty shells of caliber .45 rounds, two deformed slugs, one improvised shotgun, two empty shells of 12 gauge shotgun, one gun holster and two cellular phones from the crime scene.

The police eyed revenge as motive behind the killing because Parame allegedly shot Segundino earlier this month after the latter failed to remit the P1,500 proceeds from their illegal drug operation. Recla said the suspect did not file a case against the victim despite police prodding.

Recla said that both Parame and Segundino have been subjected to Oplan Tokhang but refused to cooperate.

In another shooting incident, Amasony "Sony" Flores did not finish eating his breakfast when unidentified gunman shot him dead yesterday morning in Sitio Rattan, Barangay Tanke, Talisay City.

Police Officer 2 Stephen Sefuesca said the victim went out of his rented house to take his breakfast at a nearby carenderia when he got shot. He sustained two gunshot wounds to the head. Sefuesca said the victim was not in the drug watch list. Police eyed personal grudge as motive behind the killing.

Meanwhile, an ex-convict was shot dead by unidentified gunman in Purok Sambag, Barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City Sunday evening.

Mamento Cabalhug, 48, a security guard, was on his way home to Purok Lubi after attending a wake past 11 p.m. when he got shot. Cabalhug was previously convicted of murder and was also involved in illegal drugs.

He was allegedly subjected to Oplan Tokhang but refused to surrender. (FREEMAN)
