The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The Regional Development Council in Central Visayas is getting ready for the reorganization of its members for the next three years.

The RDC already released the full details regarding the guideline selection of RDC - Private Sector Representative (PSR) for 2016 - 2019 on the RDC-7 website and can be viewed fully in www.rdc7.net.ph.

According to the guidelines from RDC,  each  province  is automatically allocated one seat, and additional PSRs for each province will be based on the RDC-approved formula which is 50 percent for population, 20 percent for land area and 30 percent for equal sharing for each province.

The guidelines also includes qualifications, priority sectors to be represented, nomination procedures, selection process and schedule of acti-vities leading to the confirmation of newly selected PSRs, their oath taking and assumption of office.

Present allocation includes six for Cebu Province, three for Bohol Province, and two for Siquijor Province.

Businessman Lito Maderazo will replace lawyer Mae Elaine Bathan as the RDC-PSR representative, said Emmanuel Rabacal of PSR Cebu.

Maderazo will serve only until this month. By August, there would be another round of RDC PSR selection for the term 20162019.

PSR refers to qualified natural persons selected under the guidelines to represent the private sector in the RDC while the PSO refers to organizations created or formed by private persons for the purpose of socioecono-mic development, rendering service or providing assistance to the public.

Before the selection in August, the National Economic and Development Authority in Central Visayas will conduct an orientation on the guidelines for the qualified Private Sector Organizations on June 28 – 1:30-3:30 p.m., at the NEDA-7 office in Cebu City.  (FREEMAN)
