‘Barok’ surrenders in Bohol
CEBU, Philippines - Fearing for his life, suspected drug dealer Alvaro Alvaro alias "Barok", surrendered himself last night to elements of the National Bureau of Investigation in Bohol, regional police officials confirmed.
"(Ni-)surrender sa NBI Bohol," read the text message of Regional Intelligence Division-7 chief, Superintendent Rex Derilo.
It was Alvaro the police were after then they came upon Jeffrey Otom Diaz, alias "Jaguar", last week in Las Piñas City. Diaz allegedly resisted arrest, forcing police to shoot and kill him and his bodyguard Paul Vincent Gloria.
According to Cebu Police Provincial Director Clifford Gairanod, Alvaro is one of the top 4 drug personalities in the province, a drug player operating in northern Cebu who got his drug supply from Diaz.
He is also believed to be involved in the murder of former Poro Police Station chief, Senior Inspector Jonas Tahanlangit who was shot dead last April, and the murder of another policeman in Danao City in 2011. (FREEMAN)
