CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City Council has authorized Mayor Johnny de los Reyes to accept two parcels of land which will be used as public roads for the city.

The 54 square-meter and 30-square meter lots are situated in Barangay Tabunok and in Barangay San Roque, respectively.

The 54 sq. m. lot is donated by siblings Manuel Uy, Maria Felisa Uy-Bell and Faye Eloisa Uy-Ostrea, legal heirs of late spouses Pedro Uy and Consuelo Uy.

Maria Felisa Uy-Bell and Joseph Raymond Enriquez, on the other hand, donated the 30 sq. m. lot.

The donors reportedly offered the lots as an act of liberality and generosity and as concern for the development and progress of the city.

“…together with all the improvements thereon, free and clear from all liens and encumbrances whatsoever, to be used as a public road for the City of Talisay, Cebu,” the resolution reads.

“That the specific purpose for the grant of the aforementioned donation(s) is to be strictly complied with by the donee, otherwise, any violation hereto would be a ground for the immediate revocation of this donation,” it further stated.

The resolution was sponsored by Councilor Socrates Fernandez, chairman of the council’s committee on public works and infrastructure.  — (FREEMAN)
