Woman falls off tricycle while ‘taking selfie’

CEBU, Philippines - A 29-year-old woman was injured after she fell from a tricycle allegedly while taking a ‘selfie’ on Saturday afternoon in Barangay Biasong, Talisay City.

Irene Canton, a resident of P. Del Rosario, Cebu City, landed at the hospital after sustaining a head injury following the accident.

According to the victim’s friends, they came from a resort and hailed a tricycle for Barangay Tabunok to supposedly go home prior to the incident.

Canton, who sat behind the driver, took her cellphone and allegedly took a photo of herself.

At this juncture, the tricycle driver failed to avoid the potholes on the road, which caused the victim to fall and accidentally slammed her head to the pavement.

The victim was brought to Talisay City District Hospital but was later transferred to Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City for further treatment.  (FREEMAN)
