The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – Police are now looking for a man accused of raping a 7-year-old girl after she went with the suspect who offered her bread in exchange for her company Thursday afternoon in Toledo City.

Initial investigation of police revealed that the child was with her older brother near their house in a mountain barangay in Toledo City when they met the man asking for directions to his brother’s place.

The man allegedly asked the siblings if they could take him to his brother’s house and as a tip, he will give them a plastic full of bread.

When they got to a certain area, the suspect kept his promise and bought bread. He reportedly gave it to the older brother and asked him to bring it to their house.

As soon as the older brother left, the suspect allegedly brought the girl to a grassy area where he raped her.

After the incident, the child went home to their house crying and told her parents what happened. They immediately went to the police to report the incident.

After the police took the victim’s statements, the Toledo City CSWDO took the child under its custody to submit her to a physical and medical examination at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center’s Pink Room.

While waiting for the result, the police gathered information about the identity of the suspect and are conducting a hot pursuit operation to arrest him.

Based on the latest information, the suspect has not returned to his house in Pinamungajan town after the incident.

The FREEMAN is withholding the names of both parties to protect the identity of the victim. —/ATO (FREEMAN)
