“Balik Cebu Welcome Dinner and Cultural Show”

CEBU, Philippines — This year’s “Balik Cebu Welcome Dinner and Cultural Show” featured the performance by famed Cebuana singer Anna Fegi-Brown with lounge renditions of popular Visayan pop songs, which enthralled the audience.

Brown’s performance was backed up by renditions of popular Visayan standards by previous winners of the Cebu Pop Music Festival and Sinulog Idol competitions, a presentation of traditional Filipino folkdances by various dance groups, a parade of the festival costumes worn by the lead dancers of various Sinulog contingents, a performance by the MAKA Girls, and more.

Held at the Sampaguita Ballroom of the City Sports Club on Thursday, January 18, more than 300 guests and balikbayans were present. It was part of the “Balik Cebu Program’s” set of activities. The project is now on its 15th year in playing a role in welcoming tourists and balikbayans to Cebu in time for Sinulog.

The event has greatly contributed to the increase of tourists to Cebu and the Sinulog’s celebrations, in tune with the thrusts which brought the Balik Cebu Program to form.
