Turn your worry into worship
At times when my problems are overwhelming, I find myself complaining to God, “Lord what’s this? This is too much.” I realize that by complaining, more problems come on my way. So I shifted my perspective. Instead of whining, I would say to the Lord, “Thank you Lord for these problems, but please don’t forsake me. Please help me in going through these.” I found that by doing this kind of gesture, I am more at peace, and I could feel the comforting and warm embrace of our God Almighty.
In the book, "Didache Daily Bible Reflections For Catholics, inspirational speaker and author Bo Sanchez writes, “When a child says, 'Daddy, I’m afraid of ghost!' You don’t lecture him and say, 'There are no ghost.' Instead the father just wraps his arms around the child and says, 'Daddy is here. Everything is OK.'
"Many times we end up worrying about this ghost and that ghost, this problem or that problem. But today, God is telling us,” I’m here, everything will be alright.
"Worriers expect bad things to happen to them because they’re focused on bad things. Worshippers expect good things to happen to them because they’re focused not only on good things but on good God.
"I urge you to stop worrying and start worshipping. And starting today, expect to be blessed.”
There are ways wherein we can turn worry into worshipping God. Here they are as pointed out by crosswalk.com.
Pray. When you are faced with worry, pray! Remember what Philippians 4:6-7 reminds, “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
Be thankful. After God what we need, we are instructed to thank Him for all He has done. It’s amazing how focusing on all the blessings of God in your life can really turn your perspective around.
Lean into God’s peace. Once we pray and thank God for all He has done, He promises His peace for us, which exceeds anything we can understand. When we experience peace in the middle of troubling circumstances, it’s really beyond our understanding because it simply doesn’t make sense. That is exactly what God wants to give us.
