Authentic Chinese Lunch and Dinner Buffets

CEBU, Philippines - The Chinese influence on the Filipino way of life is strong. Aside from trade and commerce, the Chinese also brought to the country their language, customs and traditions, and their cuisine. The very practice among Filipinos to offer 12 round fruits, lighting fireworks, making noise to shoo bad spirits are some of the New Year’s Eve practices that are Chinese in origin.

Tomorrow, February 8, the Chinese around the world celebrates the Spring Festival or the Chinese Lunar New Year. It is traditionally celebrated on the new moon between of January 21 and February 20. Filipinos, Cebuanos included, joins in celebrating the Chinese New Year.

Here in the city, Golden Prince Hotel has special Chinese New Year treats for all who want to celebrate the occasion with them. For the whole month of February, the hotel is offering Lucky 888 – a free breakfast and dinner buffet for two for guests availing of the two nights stay package.

Today, February 7, the hotel serves authentic Chinese lunch and dinner buffet featuring the culinary creations of Chef Ho Kee Jiong, an international cook who has been serving diplomats and ambassadors for 30 years. Lunch buffet is from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Dinner buffet is from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
