The fans of Nora Aunor are happy because the Superstar is doing several movies this year. The award-winning actress just came back from Batanes where she shot “Dementia,” the debut film of former TV5 executive Perci Intalan. The movie features Ate Guy with Chynna Ortaleza, Jeric Gonzales, Bing Loyzaga, Alice Dixson, and Jasmine Curtis Smith.

Aside from this, she finished a movie with Coco Martin titled “Padre de Pamilya” which also features Julia Montes, Rosanna Roces, Ms. Anita Linda, Joel Torre, Joem Bascon, and Baron Geisler.

She just started a new movie with direk Adolf Alix, Jr. titled “Whistleblower” with Angelica Panganiban, Romnick Sarmenta, Rocco Nacino, Laurice Guillen and Cherry Pie Picache as co-stars.

Ate Guy is preparing for a trip to the United States for her treatment so she could recover her voice and do the much-awaited concert for her fans. Meanwhile, the Noranians are waiting with bated breath for the formal announcement of the conferment of the National Artist Award to their idol. According to reports we have read, the announcement will come from Malacañang.

We wonder if Ate Guy’s contract with TV5 had expired. If not, what could their plans be for the actress?

An Earth Day Celebration was held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) last Sunday, April 13. It was a whole day affair which they dubbed as “Clean Air.” It started at 6 a.m. via a fun run at the CCP grounds.

This was followed by a program featuring Ballet Philippines and noted ventriloquist Wanlu in front of the CCP Front Lawn. By 8 a.m., the exhibits and fair were opened. Visual artist Junyee unveiled his artwork made up of 300 pieces of bamboo that created an acoustic cluster of “windmills” which transformed the area into a place of wind movement. There was also a yoga class conducted by Gentle Warriors at the CCP Main Theater Lobby.

The Earth Day at the CCP was made possible by Haribon Foundation, Kasibulan, Philippine Art Educators Association (PAEA) Foundation for Philippine Environment, Philippine Biocar, Bureau of Plant Industry and the Kite Association of the Philippines.

Growing up in one of the poorest streets in Metro Manila opened the eyes of Anthony Gedang to grab every opportunity that comes his way and to be the best of what he can be.

At a very young age, he exchanged trade secrets with the experts and made the most out of it. “Friend ko ‘yung magagaling at malalaking tao. Tapos pinasa na nila ‘yung knowledge nila sa akin kaya mabilis akong lumaki,” he said.

Anthony, or Tonet to his friends and relatives, produced the award-winning indie film “Ataul For Rent” directed by Neil ‘Buboy’ Tan under his own movie outfit Artiste Entertainment Works International.

His second indie film is titled “Casa.” Now, he is in the post-production stage of their third film “Edna” which is about an OFW portrayed by brilliant actress Irma Adlawan and the directorial debut of multi-awarded actor Ronnie Lazaro.

Aside from producing films, Tonet is a successful businessman. He is the president of one of the leading equipment and service supplier in the water industry serving Manila Water, Maynilad and many other water utilities and water districts all over the Philippines, the Water Konsult Equipment and Services, Inc.

“I trained salesmen to be master salesmen. I made a Chinese store into a multi-million company,” he shared. He became partner with the owner and simultaneously put up his own company.
