Austrian motorcycle brand opens in Cebu
KTM Visayas Corporation, distributor of KTM in the Southern Philippines, opened its exclusive showroom at Mandaue North Reclamation along with its service center recently.
The brand new showroom will offer customers the exhilarating range of KTM bikes, as well as other notable European motorcycle brands.
Wilson Patrick Ong, President of KTM VC and Vice President Brian Lacson, are the cornerstones of the company which was conceived in 2014 mainly because of the love and passion for enjoying these types of motorcycles.
“We wanted to share the experience of owning these high quality, high performance bikes. KTM is famous for their Motocross bikes and have an unbeatable record in this sport. Their success and technology have trickled down to their products, both in their specialty competition bikes and their street performance bikes. With the high performance and quality that these bikes have, we are very confident that we will be successful,” Ong said.
The two storey facility houses a tall glass facade showroom to house the wide range of specialty bikes and a high-tech service center that can diagnose and service not only KTM bikes but other European Bikes as well, such as BMW, Husqvarna, Ducati, Agusta to name a few. The outlet also promises to provide racing bike aficionados of the Visayas and Mindanao a peek at the performance and racing bikes the KTM stable has to offer.
Robbie Enriquez, General Manager for the new facility promises to provide the KTM and European bike owners premium service experience with highly advanced equipments and well skilled technicians. Both the exclusive service center and showroom are aimed at catering to the growing number of racing enthusiasts and performance savvy bikers in the Philippines, by providing customers with an unmatched experience. Enriquez also added that the service center has beefed up its inventory of parts and that hard to find ones can easily be ordered in the showrrom.
Brian Lacson is optimistic the market is big in this side of the country. “Visayas has already shown us much promise especially with our best selling models, the Duke 200 and the 390. These bikes are very competitively priced and it only goes to show that it’s not only the A and B market who want these bikes. Even the C market is in. These bikes fill in the void between the mopeds and the superbikes,” Lacson explained.
Lacson has lined-up events to highlight the Grand Opening of the Showroom on May. “ We have an official rider who we will be present in the opening, Janjan Adlawan, who is very active in the Philippine Motocross Scene. We will also have Stunt Show Exhibitions by Ram Teves and Gymkhana Events. But most importantly, we will need to pamper the Motorcycle Club by tailoring events for them.”
Ong, when asked about brand reluctance to KTM answered, “With the high performance and quality that these bikes have and our very competitive price brackets, we are very confident that we will be successful in this market.”
